Create character animations online

This is a great site (although I'm almost positive it can't be accessed from school) that you can use to help kids make their own character animations. I plan to use it during my Animation Unit. There are other good ones that are in the form of iPhone/iPad apps, but this one can be accessed from any computer. SketchStar Animation Creator. Speaking of Animation apps, I had so much fun making an animated version of an old tongue twister for my theater students with Animation Creator HD that I submitted it to a Film Festival--and got in! Biscuits was shown at the SoDak Animation Festival in October of 2011.

Well, I can retire now. Seriously, though, these tutorials are well made and informative for novice filmmakers (at least the ones I saw...). Check out Vimeo Video School.

forget what I just said...

I'm actually not hosting my film blog there (on the school server) either. I am, however, using a fantabulous new microblogging-for-education site called edmodo, and that's where my film students will be getting their content from now on.
I will, however, be coming back to this site soon, for other purposes...definitely film related! Stay tuned....

PS: Happy Birthday, Joan Crawford!
